Deck Demolition Day ![]() Keith cleaned up those stray beams yesterday, but that's basically how it looks now. Once we pressure wash and restain the house, the siding will look better. We're talking about extending the flashing a bit over the kitchen slider as the vertical orientation lets rain splash up off the deck getting the wall dirty. It's nice and dry where the deck was and the structural beam is in great shape. We'll probably reuse it as it's cedar. ![]() This shows the access hatch that Mike Pizzuto will be using to replace a couple of 2x12's underneath. I do not envy the man! I think the new deck will leave this facet uncovered if I can get Keith to give up decking the complete circumference. He'll also be adding an additional 10 foundation vents to the dome. There just weren't enough installed for the square footage. At least it's nice and dry under there! ![]() Look to the left ... ![]() Look to the right ... ![]() What's left is a nice front porch that will do us until we redeck. We added the furry part as decoration. ;) ![]() Here's Keith on the roof cleaning off the leaves. Mike Pizzuto is going to pressure wash and seal it so Keith thought he'd inspect and clean a little to make his job easier. Those skylights will nice to have washed! Back ... |
