The way to the top

Keith on high

This is Keith painting the highest point on the ceiling - 21 feet from the floor. We had that scaffolding up for a couple of weeks. Perhaps if I had the guts to get up there, we'd have gotten the painting of the ceiling done faster. As it was, Keith got it whipped out pretty quickly with the Wagner power roller.

Stre-e-etch

While we had the scaffold, Keith washed the skylights and caulked around the edges. There were quite a few difficult areas to reach even with the scaffold. I'm glad we chose a nice neutral for the ceiling, I'd hate to have him have to repaint that any time soon.

the stair solution

We couldn't get the scaffold over the stairs, so Keith built a step extension that he puts the ladder on. We'll use this for painting the "sunrise wall" once we get to that. I took this photo at night so it's not so great.

Keith testing installation

Here's Keith testing the fan for wobble. Installation went without a hitch. It's a 60 incher and has a pretty cool spider-like shadow. The best part is the remote! It has 3 speeds, reverse, and a fluorescent light that dims. The original had on/off and a lovely grindy sound. This thing is silent!

the mess

We lived with this decorating scheme for a few weeks! This is why I didn't invite anyone over. If you hate your carpet just cover it in plastic for 3 weeks. When you take it off, the carpet looks good. Try it, it works! ;)
